Embodied Joy

A 6-part movement journey to restore Your nervous system and reconnect with life

Join us May 25 - June 29, 2023

A guided, online-based program with live and self-paced practices you can access from anywhere

through Weekly somatic movement sessions + a self-paced course all Rooted in community care, receive guidance and support Each step of the way as you:

  • Learn to tend to and regulate an overloaded nervous system within even a few minutes.

  • Shore up what makes you YOU and increase comfort in your own skin.

  • Walk away with a toolkit of doable personal practices to care for and re-ground you through the unique challenges of your days.

So that rather than stress running the show, you can drop your shoulders and connect with the joy that percolates when all parts of you are affirmed and expressed. And the whole You can dance (metaphorically, and literally if you want to!) with the life inside and around you.

Because we need you and what you have to share.

How the embodied Joy 6-week group program Works

in each 2-week module, You’ll be guided through four Pillars of support:

  • Once per week we’ll gather online for movement centered in ease, play, and space for your body to restore its sense of connection, power, and choice. With our motto to “move how you move, wiggle how you wiggle, or simply BE” — we’ll alternate between the Rose Model’s signature BREATHE somatic movement practice and themed, free movement dance parties. Each session is strategically designed for you to express freely, reclaim more parts of who you are, and be held in a gentle space of dignity, safety, and belonging. And you don’t have to be on camera or say a word if you’re not feelin’ it! We’ll have an optional check-in at the close of each session for added support in your process.

  • Each week you’ll receive breathing, self-discovery, visualization and other creative practices that support your movement and personal care journey. Engage according to your own schedule and preferences through video and audio lessons, journaling prompts and a digital workbook to track and retain what you learn.

  • As you progress and grow your self-knowledge week by week, you’ll experiment with what we call “touchstone” practices — micro moments and tools to presence you back in your body and space within minutes or even seconds — as well as more immersive experiences you can use whenever they’re most supportive for you.

By the end of the program, you’ll walk away with knowledge of how to implement the BREATHE practice on your own, playlists from every session, and curated personal care practices to serve your wellbeing and bring more ease to your life going forward.

  • Our weekly movement sessions alternate between a themed BREATHE somatic movement session at the beginning of each module, and a free-movement “dance” party every second week to honor each part of the journey — “dance” in quotes because there is NEVER a wrong way to move or be in your body!

Each dance party begins with a micro-lesson and invitation to incorporate a somatic movement practice as you move, but the whole purpose of the dance parties is that THERE ARE NO RULES. This is a time for you to release, be expressed, and do whatever most nourishes YOU.

Each dance party playlist has a theme honoring our phase in the journey. You’ll have an opportunity for a brief check-in at the end of each dance party, but are never obligated to share. We will celebrate you and your journey every step of the way energetically and hold space for your restoration and unfolding in whatever form takes the best care of you.

Blending Science, Soul, and an ethos of care

Rooted in brain-body science, trauma-informed care, and core values of accessibility and inclusion, Embodied Joy weaves together intentional music, movement, and creative practices to uncomplicate embodiment and reclaim movement’s original role in our lives — exploration, linking with your inner compass and power, nervous system processing, a sense of connection, and PLAY!

With radical ease and fun, you’ll find here not only more movement and care for you in your days, but a gentle space to thaw, connect with the life force inside you, and experience the sense of possibility that arises when you’re affirmed and surrounded by community care. You’ll walk away with tangible restorative practices, more accessible movement in your life, new discoveries about yourself, and so much more.

Each Module will guide you through and support you with:

movement adapted for how you move

The BREATHE somatic movement practice (live + recorded) is designed to reset the nervous system and reclaim movement in your body, even if you’ve had challenges with injuries, mobility, or chronic conditions. Each themed session will boost your week with movement, self-discovery and confidence-building using somatic tools and mobility-friendly techniques you can implement and take with you.

Personal care Practices that fit in busy days

Self-paced weekly tools help you move through stuckness or chaos, take doable actions that nourish you and what’s most important you, and reconnect with hope and possibility for your future.

Throughout the program you’ll build your toolkit of practices that nourish YOUR life, complementing your unique needs and wiring.

introvert-friendly dance parties!

Celebrate each module’s completion with a live, come as you are dance party. Enjoy an eclectic & intentional playlist, express freely and connect with others, without necessarily having to say a word!

With our motto, “Move how you move, wiggle how you wiggle!” our small group online parties bring play to the journey — it’s like recess without the social anxiety. :)

why i created this

Rose Model founder Lori Rose explains her “why” behind Embodied Joy.

Photo Credit: Of Breath & Bone

Hi! I'm Lori (she/her), a Covid-bereaved somatic movement practitioner, child & adult trauma survivor, and founder of the Rose Model for Healthy Relationships. I created the BREATHE somatic movement practice and this entire program with acute mindfulness of tender and frazzled nervous systems, chronic pain and injuries, and fellow neurodiverse & Highly Sensitive People.

After 25 years of teaching movement and dance, I wanted a practice that never told anyone how they should look, move, or feel in their own uniquely beautiful body. And, I wanted for complete accessibility, without any aspects so esoteric that someone who simply wanted to reclaim movement in their body may not have enough comfort to join in. I combined movement with experience working with the brain and nervous system, pain management, trauma-informed care, and the body-mind as an ecosystem, and BREATHE was born!

Seeing corporate, campus, and 1:1 clients reconnect with their joy and take transformational journeys through somatic movement as they recover from past harm, navigate life changes, and build new healthy relationship blueprints for themselves has been awe-inspiring. Embodied Joy is a chance for more people to access this guided movement journey in whatever ways best support their current chapter, in a way I seek to make as affordable as possible. I’m so excited to walk alongside you in this journey.

At the Rose Model we have a motto to describe our goal of healthy human connection: “Here I am. And I am here for you.” Embodied Joy is a mini-journey to connection with yourself and others in a way that liberates you while nurturing the core human needs of dignity, safety, and belonging. We need the authentic you in this world, in any phase or season. I’m honored to witness your unfolding into joy, and so look forward to sharing this program with you!

If cost is the only barrier keeping you from joining this program, please email Lori about sliding scale options.
