Breaking Up with Body Image BS: The Patterns We Didn't Ask For — and What We Can Do About Them Together

A Free Live Roundtable (on Zoom)
Wednesday, June 17, 2026 | 7:30–8:45pm ET | Register

Summer's here — and so is the noise, for you and the people you care about.
The "get your body ready" messaging. The reel pointing out that your go-to shorts are wrong. The pressure to look a certain way before you "earn" the right to be seen or connect. The crap you thought you'd left behind, but it circles back — robbing you of precious time, connection, joy, and basic dignity. And rippling beyond you to important aspects of your life.

The body monitoring you didn't ask for isn't just in your head. It's in your body — in the way you brace, pull away, and hold yourself back. The people who love you can sense the gap between who you are and how much space you're letting yourself take up. And the cost — in presence, in intimacy, in moments you can't get back — keeps adding up.

The world needs you — your voice, your leadership, your full presence. But you can't show up like that when you're bracing every time you get dressed.

With everything we can't control right now, let's not let the body image BS you inherited be the thing that keeps you or those you care about small.

This free roundtable is about breaking up with that cycle. Not with toxic positivity or empty affirmations, but with science, somatics, and real talk that actually moves something. We'll trace the roots of the surveillance inside (the constant monitoring and internalized judgment) and practice interrupting it together — because trying to do this alone is exactly what the algorithm wants. You'll walk away with a real tool you can use right away to start freeing up your energy for the things (and people) you care about.

Spring Equinox Dance Party

MOVE, RENEW, AND STEP FORWARD — WITHOUT HAVING TO SAY A WORD

Come exactly as you are to honor the start of spring — more daylight, a shift in the air, and the quiet invitation to begin again, even when the world makes that feel hard.

Through music from around the globe and free movement (there's never a wrong way to move your body, or rest!), we invite you to shed what you no longer need from the darker months and make room for whatever wants to emerge.

Our motto remains: "Move how you move, wiggle how you wiggle — or simply Be" — in a community rooted in care, curiosity, and belonging.

Cameras and microphones are always optional. The music is thoughtfully curated to carry you through — all you have to do is show up in any form. Our playlist begins gently to welcome all nervous system states, no matter where you're at — even if (and especially if!) you don't feel like it. We'll pause briefly for optional check-ins midway and again at the close.

If you'd like to stay afterward, we'd love to hear your reflections and gather ideas for movement-centered offerings we're dreaming up for our communities.

This is a free event. Please register on Zoom to join us.

Come receive all the restoration, playfulness, or permission that returns you to yourself — because the way you move in this world is so needed.

About Your Hosts:

Lori Rose is a sexuality and relationship educator, trauma-conscious coach, and somatic movement guide. She works with caring, determined people during ground-shifting times — through relationship changes, major transitions, and the moments when old wounds surface alongside new ones, leaving you wondering how to carry it all. Her work helps people move through the hardest parts without losing themselves, emerging on the other side with more than just relief — they find a nervous system finally spacious enough for joy, momentum, and the full expression of who they are. These dance parties are a gentle, no-pressure glimpse into that world.

Lisa Walters is the founder of Free Spirit Expeditions and a heart-centered travel planner who helps free-spirited people take nourishing, stress-free adventures — from the first conversation to the moment they return home. She specializes in matching clients with experiences that reflect their own values, while directing their travel dollars toward businesses that treat their people well, care for the environment, and leave the world a little better than they found it. Travel, in her hands, becomes an act of both personal renewal and collective good.

Together, we're creating community spaces where care, safety, and belonging make room for rest, creative expression, and meaningful connection.
